Daintree Rainforest Village Facilities


Our camp kitchen is one of the best in the forest. We have two barbeques, a gas cooker, a big fridge pluselectric jug and a real toaster on the spacious benches. The dishwashing facility is great and there is ample seating for small and large groups. The view of the forest from the dining area is simply stunning.

Daintree Rainforest Village laundryis located between the mens and ladies bathrooms in the main campground. Two washing machines and one dryer plus tubs and benches will help you get through the chores easily. Grab a novel from the free book exchange or flip through a magazine while you doyour laundry. There are clotheslines for your convenience in the garden behind the building.

Your stay at the Daintree Rainforest Village is a pleasure because of our sparkling clean bathrooms, spacious cubicles and delicious hot water showers. Men’s and ladies bathrooms are fully screened so you won’t have unexpected encounters with bugs and other wild visitors. There are 240 volt power points in the bathrooms if you need to charge a toothbrush or blow dry your hair.

Please be aware there are no chemical toilet dump points within the Daintree National Park. Prepare at Mossman Caravan Park before you come across the river by ferry.

Sitting out under the stars and swapping travel stories by the fire is a simple and memorable pleasure especially when you are surrounded by the luscious Daintree Rainforest.Wood is provided for free, so gather round with fellow campers in the evening, maybe roast some potatoes or toast some marshmallows.You can find the communal campfire on the common area close to the camp kitchen. Individual fires are not permitted.

Caravans aren’t great on the Bloomfield 4WD track . You can storage your van with us in a secure area for $10 per night and go exploring for a few days.

Want to zipline across the rainforest canopy or go snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef or do a spot of croc spotting on Coopers Creek? Come to the shop and ask our friendly staff to book your tours in the Daintree at no extra cost to you. They can give you a locals knowledge of how to best plan your days.

The well stocked convenience store out front of the campground has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We have the all things you may have forgotten to pack like toothbrush, bug spray, sunglasses etc. Coins and soap powder for the laundry are here.Locally grown tropical fruits are delivered twice per week is bread, milk and vegetables. We have a great range of canned, dried and frozen foods, deserts, treats and snacks. Everything you need for a comfortable stay.

In Australia we call them SERVOS and Daintree Rainforest Village servo is the only place you can buy unleaded petrol and diesel fuel north of Wonga Beach. If you are planning to challenge yourself on the Bloomfield Track this is the last fuel stop until you reach WujalWujal. And don’t presume we are overpriced just because we are remote! Our fuel prices are very reasonable considering location and we were recently cheaper than the town fuel prices five weeks in a row.

Grab your ice, bait and Swap and Go Gas of 3.7kg and 8.5kg bottles here too and a find good range of automotive oils and coolants, degreasers and demineralised water.What is a servo without a servo pie? Well it is just a petrol station. We serve hot servo pies from Mrs Mac and Outback. They are perfect for a snack any time of day. Get one hot from the pie warmer now!

If lounging around with a big ole newspaper in your lap sounds relaxing, you’ll be happy to know our sub Newsagency has newspapers and magazines delivered every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Grab a Cairns Post, the Weekend Australian or a Courier Mail or even the local rag…The Gazette..and chillax!

Daintree Rainforest Village is the central CPA where you can purchase local and international stamps foryour postcards and send them from our little red Australia Post Box. We also stock prepaid satchels, envelopes and postal tubes.Because mail is only delivered and collected on Tuesday and Friday each week, you can’t expect a high speed service. It’s the Daintree!

Need cash for Ice Cream? Daintree Rainforest Village has an ATM located inside the shop. As it is an independent ATM fees apply.

The shop has an EFTPOS facility with Paywave so you can pay for it all on your card.

A coin operated public telephone is located at the Daintree Rainforest Village car park.
